Conosciuta come la più antica Libreria di Bologna venne avviata nel 1825 dalla famiglia Marchesi e nel 1928 fu rilevata da Arnaldo Nanni che l’attrezzò con le caratteristiche “bancarelle parigine” sotto il portico della Morte. La Libreria Nanni ha avviato una sistematica azione di reperimento di testi rari appoggiandola ad una politica editoriale che ha consentito la ristampa di opere di filosofia, medicina, scienze naturali, ingegneria, letteratura. La Libreria che ha dunque saputo rispondere nel tempo ad una crescente domanda di “rarità” , soddisfacendo le richieste provenienti da Biblioteche, Università Italiane, Europee ed Americane, contribuendo in tal modo all’affermazione ed alla diffusione della cultura bolognese.
