About this seller
Il fondatore Paride Malavasi, libraio dal 1933 al 1975, nel 1939 apre il negozio a Milano, con l'insegna Libreria Malavasi. Nel 1943 la Libreria Malavasi conosce i bombardamenti, per poi riprendere l'attività dal 1945. Della rinascita, non solo politica ed economica, la libreria vive i momenti intellettuali e culturali, diventando luogo di ritrovo per scrittori, docenti, professionisti. Poi, alla vivacità del dopoguerra subentra la crescita ordinata, come libreria antiquaria con taglio preciso verso temi di scienze, architettura, arte, storia locale italiana, libri di qualità dell'Ottocento ed esauriti del Novecento, nonché il libro antico. Nel 1975, il testimone viene raccolto dai figli, prima Maurizio, poi Sergio e Sandra. La vocazione della libreria è mantenuta nella sua essenza, ma gli eredi procedono ad un consolidamento sostanziale. Dalla seconda metà degli anni '70 progressivamente ampliano e qualificano la presenza non solo nel settore libro antico ma anche del libro moderno. Dalla metà degli anni '80, sono tra i pionieri in Italia nel costruire un archivio elettronico dove viene raccolto il lavoro sia delle proprie disponibilità che di quanto di meglio viene offerto a mercato sui cataloghi delle altre Librerie Antiquarie. Dal 1985 pubblica cataloghi su raccolte tematiche delle offertei. La Libreria è nota per la cura quasi maniacale nella redazione delle schede bibliografiche descrittive. Ad oggi, si colloca tra le migliori Librerie Antiquarie del paese. A côté dell'attività storica, la Libreria Malavasi ha avviato, sempre in posizione pionieristica, una attività su Internet per il libro antico sin dal 1995: il sito Maremagnum.com
